The Cincinnati Bengals stuck at 60th overall in the 2023 NFL draft’s second round and selected Michigan cornerback DJ Turner.
Turner, 5’11” and 178 pounds, ran a blazing 4.26 40-yard dash and projects as an outsider or inside corner.
This provides a massive boost to depth for the Bengals secondary and a possible instant starter if Chidobe Awuzie isn’t ready to go by Week 1.
This follows the Bengals using their first-round pick on Clemson defensive end Myles Murphy on Thursday night, solidifying the pass-rush for both the immediate and long-term future.
Like that pick, Turner walks a fine balance between being able to help right away and possessing starter potential down the road when the team needs it. In the long-term, he can pair with Cam Taylor-Britt as an every-down starter.
