The Cincinnati Bengals tossed a pair of major injury updates to onlookers on the Monday after the Week 13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Buy Bengals TicketsFirst up is the status of running back Joe Mixon, who just missed another game while he works through concussion protocol.
Per Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Mixon was held out against the Chiefs for precautionary reasons and he could be cleared early this week, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.
Second is tight end Hayden Hurst, who left the game against the Chiefs early with a calf injury. According to Bengals.com’s Marisa Contipelli, Bengals head coach Taylor said Hurst is “doubtful for this week.”
That’s some good and bad news for the Bengals offense. Mixon’s return is great, though it will be interesting to see how much work he gets with Samaje Perine playing so well.
Depth at tight end has been an issue though, so if Hurst misses time the Bengals might have to look outside the team for help.
