The Cincinnati Bengals will likely revamp much of the defense next offseason, but lineman Justin Rogers won’t be part of the plans.
Thank the Dallas Cowboys, as Jerry Jones’ club swooped in and signed Rogers off the Bengals’ practice squad ahead of Week 16.
The Bengals added the rookie out of Auburn after final cuts and waiver wire shuffling before the season and he was one of the most-hyped members of the practice squad.
While the Bengals would’ve liked to have Rogers for the long-term, the future in the middle of the defense belongs to Kris Jenkins Jr. and McKinnley Jackson, the two rookies they added this year in the draft.
Still, the hunt to replace DJ Reader’s production with a platoon of guys hasn’t panned out just yet. The Cowboys just made things slightly more difficult.
