The grades in the wake of the Cincinnati Bengals saving their season with the win over the Los Angeles Rams are about as expected.
Those Bengals struggled offensively with Joe Burrow limited by a calf injury. He attempted 49 passes and had a strong connection with Ja’Marr Chase, though, doing enough to outlast Matthew Stafford and the team that bested them in the Super Bowl two years ago.

Before the Bengals start prepping to play the Titans over the weekend, here’s a quick look at some of the notable Pro Football Focus grades.
Top 5 offense
- Jamarr Chase — 76.8
- Joe Burrow — 74.0
- Jonah Williams — 60.9
- Alex Cappa — 59.5
- Charlie Jones — 58.6
We’ve omitted a few guys with minimal snap counts but the top three remain the same regardless. Williams having a big game is a great sign after he struggled in Week 1 against Myles Garrett (as does anyone).
Bottom 5 offense
- Cordell Volson — 27.3
- Tee Higgins — 43.7
- Orlando Brown Jr. — 45.6
- Mitchell Wilcox — 53.1
- Joe Mixon — 55.5
Volson has had major problems and it shows in the grades, though he’s had brutal matchups all three games. It’s grain-of-salt stuff with Brown though, as he hardly allowed a pressure on the day.
Top 5 defense
- Trey Hendrickson — 92.1
- Logan Wilson — 90.1
- Jalen Daivs — 88.4
- Cam Sample — 82.5
- Sam Hubbard — 76.0
Hendrickson might be the best edge in the NFL not named Myles Garrett right now and that bodes well going into next week against a Titans team also struggling with offensive line play.
Bottom 5 defense
- Mike Hilton — 25.8
- Dax Hill — 42.6
- Cam Taylor Britt — 47.0
- Nick Scott — 50.9
- Germaine Pratt — 53.8
This is where grades can become polarizing, as Bengals fans know all too well that Dax Hill had several huge impact plays, but grading 37.9 in coverage really brought him down.
