The Cincinnati Bengals had a light day on Tuesday ahead of a Saturday game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Yet in true Bengals fashion, even a “light’ day turned out pretty interesting.
After all, a guy by the name of Ja’Marr Chase popped up on the injury report.
And given the stacked nature of the AFC right now with four games left, there were plenty of playoff scenarios to work through as the Bengals very much remain alive in the running.
Before the team faces that critical game against an NFC opponent, here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for December 13.
Ja'Marr Chase on the report
The Bengals issued an “estimated” injury report that featured Chase as a DNP. But he was later out there in a jersey during walkthroughs…so who knows what’s really going on?
No room for error
The playoff scenarios say it all — the Bengals can lose just one more game and still make the playoffs. Well, maybe. It’s hard to recall a time a conference was this bunched up with a month to go.
More Trey Hendrickson elite things
Don’t look now but Hendrickson has 13.5 sacks and his single-game showing against the Colts was one of the best outright of his career.
AJ McCarron feels the love -- Bengals.com
McCarron was loving what he heard when he checked in last week for a few plays: “It was awesome to hear the city give me a cheer. I knew Jake had just a forearm cramp or something and that he would be back to finish the win. I felt great. I only got two (warm-up) throws, so that was a little tough.”
