News around the Cincinnati Bengals kicked up a notch without much warning this week, largely because of further changes to the coaching staff as the overhaul continues in the wake of Brian Callahan’s departure.
Those Bengals lost another coach and a critical one, at that, with the college game coming in and grabbing a name from the team’s staff.
With another coach, though, the Bengals actually blocked another pro team’s interview request, instead promoting the target of said interview, one of two promotions on the week as the overhaul of the staff continues.
Here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for February 9.

At a time the Bengals need to get the most out of a young secondary littered with high draft picks, the team lost Rob Livingston. He’s off to join Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffalos.
Bengals promote two, hire one more
The Bengals responded by making two promotions and an outside hire, bringing on a completely new face to help the offense.
Bengals blocked interview
One of the coaches promoted after the loss of Livingston was actually targeted by another team. The Bengals blocked the interview request, though, retaining a key piece of the staff.
