The Cincinnati Bengals wrapped an interesting week of prep before they play the Kansas City Chiefs with…more intrigue.
Most of it centered on Ja’Marr Chase.
The star wideout seemed to light the NFL world on fire with comments about the Chiefs amid his gradually escalating participation in practice as he comes back from an injury.
But Bengals head coach Zac Taylor hasn’t said whether Chase will actually play and the final injury report didn’t exactly shed further light on the situation before Sunday’s pivotal game that is laced with playoff implications.
Here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for December 30.
Zac Taylor on Ja'Marr Chase
Taylor says the next 48 hours before the game actually kicks off are key for Chase. Onlookers have seen the star wideout’s gradual progression each day of practice, though.
Final injury report
Chase is just one of two players listed on the final injury report for the Bengals. Fittingly, he’s got the 50-50 questionable tag.
Cam Taylor-Britt re-joins 53-man roster
Cam Taylor-Britt, as expected, is back on the roster and ready for the game against the Chiefs after missing the mandatory four games on injured reserve.
What Sunday's game means
No team has more at stake from a playoff percentages outlook than the Bengals on Sunday when they play the Chiefs. It will likely decide whether they make the playoffs.
