Help is on the way for the battered Cincinnati Bengals defensive line.
During the prep work for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced that Myles Murphy and McKinnley Jackson will return to practice, with the latter designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list.
Murphy, the former first-round pick, was already designated to return back in August.
This news means the 21-day window to return has been opened for both players. Over that three-week span, the players won’t count against the 53-man roster.
The Bengals could desperately use the help. The rookie Jackson could help fellow breakout rookie Kris Jenkins Jr. on the interior with Sheldon Rankins and B.J. Hill still hurt.
And Murphy is a critical piece on the edge with Trey Hendrickson injured and Sam Hubbard battling a season-long injury.
