For the most part, Cincinnati Bengals players have been pretty good about avoiding fine-worthy plays the NFL must penalize.
But the NFL has hit Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson with a big fine stemming from his actions during the Week 14 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Per the NFL’s accountability page, the league sent Hendrickson a fine letter checking in at $21,855 for a flagged unnecessary roughness penalty stemming from when he hit the opposing passer late.
While fans can argue there has been some game-to-game inconsistency as to what constitutes roughing the passer, Hendrickson was very late on this particular hit in Week 14 and at the time, it robbed the defense of getting off the field.
