Benefit payments will be made earlier than usual this month due to the Queen's funeral on Monday, the government has confirmed.
The date of Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral has been confirmed to take place on Monday, September 19 and will be marked as a national bank holiday. This is so individuals, businesses and other organisations can pay their respects to the late monarch while also observe the final day of the national mourning period.
For people expecting to receive their benefits and credits on Monday, it will mean they are instead paid on Friday September 16 - the last working day before the funeral, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have said.
