Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has responded to news Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract.
The Egyptian penned a fresh deal on Friday to extend his stay at Anfield by a further three years, signing until the summer of 2025. It is understood he'll be earning roughly £350,000-a-week, making him the highest paid player in the club's history.
It's a deal many didn't expect to get done given the negotiations dragged out and reports in the media suggested Liverpool were not willing to sway from their rigid wage structure. However, it's the news everyone wanted to hear and Carragher says everyone will be 'delighted' Salah is set to remain on Merseyside.
