Ben Shephard criticised the "Tinder Swindler" for what he said were "distasteful" remarks live on This Morning on Wednesday (16 September).
Shimon Hayut, also known as Simon Leviev, featured in a Netflix documentary which explored how he used the dating app to connect with women whom he emotionally manipulated into giving him millions of pounds.
He has now announced that he is launching his own dating app.
When he described his portrayal in the documentary as "nice," Shephard interrupted him.
" Quantifying it as nice is really distasteful because, of course, it's not a nice story... There was nothing nice about what these women went through."
