Ben & Jerry's is giving away free ice cream for eight hours only. Free Cone Day is returning for 2023 on Monday, April 3, to thank customers for their support.
Free scoops are being handed out across the world and ice cream lovers can join the queue as many times as they want. It says this year the annual celebration will be "bigger than ever", with the aim of giving away a million free cones.
Free Cone Day started in Vermont, USA on May 5, 1979, when Ben & Jerry's founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield decided to mark their first year in business and thank the local community for their support during a long and freezing cold winter. The company is now in 35 countries across the world and Free Cone Day has become an annual celebration.
Customers can try any flavour they like in selected Ben & Jerry's shops on the big day from noon to 8pm. They include classics like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Lights! Caramel! Action!, a newcomer for 2023.
