Antonio Conte hopes to have Ben Davies back in action after the international break.

The Welsh international missed Saturday’s huge 6-2 win over Leicester after suffering a knee injury during the Champions League loss away at Sporting earlier in the week.

While the 29-year-old was able to continue in Lisbon, the knock will rule him out of his country’s UEFA Nations League games against Belgium and Poland.

Davies has been a key part of Conte’s first-choice XI since the Italian’s appointment and signed a new one-year contract with the club earlier this summer.

After the break, Tottenham return with a trip to bitter rivals Arsenal before a visit to Eintracht Frankfurt in what looks a crucial game in deciding whether or not Spurs can progress out of Group D.

Speaking to Sky Sports before Saturday’s win, Conte said: “[It is] not a serious injury.

“I think after the international he’ll be back because with the national team he is not available”.
