Ben Davies in Rangers 'win them all' declaration after securing Celtic League Cup Old Firm showdown

Ben Davies admits he can't wait to return to Hampden to face Celtic as he bids to win his first trophy with Rangers.

The former Liverpool defender - who signed in the summer while Giovanni van Bronckhorst was in charge - has become a key part of Michael Beale's defence alongside Connor Goldson after an injury disrupted beginning to life in Glasgow. He now seems to be over the worst of those woes as he continues to put a string of games under his belt.

The stopper played the full 120 minutes at the national stadium as the Light Blues defeated Aberdeen in extra-time thanks to Kemar Roofe's winner in the additional 30 minutes. Bojan Miovski handed the Dons the advantage before Ryan Jack levelled against his former club to force the game beyond the original 90 minutes. Rangers' reward is an Old Firm showdown with Ange Postecoglou's League Cup holders with Davies already looking forward to the clash. After Scottish Cup success last term, the Ibrox men want to lift the Viaplay Cup as he made a 'win them all' declaration.

Speaking after the 2-1 win over Aberdeen, Davies said: "I enjoyed it out there. It’s a good stadium. Cup finals are not something I’ve experienced loads of in my career, so it’s good to be involved in one.

"I’m already looking forward to it. It’s obviously the first cup to play for in the season and it would be good to win it.

“The club won the Scottish Cup last season, so we want to win this one this year. We want to win them all!

“It will be good to come back here, have a good game and hopefully we can win it.”

On Roofe's injury, he added: “I haven’t spoken to him. I don’t know what he has done, to be honest.

“He took his goal really well. In training he has looked good. He is hard to train against and hard to play against.

“I played against him in England and he is sharp. He knows what he is doing and he knows how to score.

“So it would be a blow to us if he is out for a period. We will just have to see.”
