Ben Chilwell is excited to return to first-team action with Chelsea having overcome the hamstring injury sustained in November – and the left-back is hopeful the Blues can enjoy a strong second half of the season in the Premier League and Champions League.
It was during the final moments of Chelsea's clash against Dinamo Zagreb – a dead rubber with Graham Potter's side having already qualified for the Champions League knockout stage – that Chilwell suffered a hamstring tear that kept him out of the World Cup in Qatar.
That was a bitter blow for the 26-year-old, who had worked hard to recover from a knee ligament injury sustained the previous campaign. Chilwell has spent the past eleven weeks undertaking his rehabilitation work at Cobham and is closing in on a return to action.

There is hope Chilwell can make a return to the matchday squad for the Premier League clash against Fulham next week, sources have told football.london. And the England international is looking forward to helping Chelsea improve during the remainder of the campaign.
“I’ve been working now for ten/eleven weeks to get back onto the grass and I’ve been back in training now for a few days, so I’m buzzing and really looking forward to getting back to the games and helping the team," he told the club's in-house media.
“Injuries are a part of football and missing the World Cup is something a few of the boys have had to deal with. I think it’s how you overcome that; it’s not the fact it has happened it is how you deal with it. We’ve all stayed positive, the boys that have been injured during this period, and we’re really motivated to get back and help the team.
"We’ve got a very important second half of the season with the league and the Champions League. So we’re really excited for that and hopefully, we can have a very good second half of the season and a good end to the Champions League.”
