Chelsea players past and present have streamed in to send messages of support to Mason Mount after the midfielder had a minor surgery to fix a persistent injury over the past few months. He was all but ruled out for the rest of the season by interim coach Frank Lampard ahead of the match against Brentford on Wednesday night.
In a post on Instagram, Mount updated fans of his progress, writing: "Had a minor procedure yesterday to sort out a discomfort I had for a while. Everything went well and I’m feeling good.
"Time to rest but can’t wait to get back to training in the coming weeks! Thanks for all your messages of support and a massive thank you to the medical team, doctors and nurses for looking after me."

Having been voted as the club's player of the season twice since making his senior debut nearly four years ago Mount has had an unsettled campaign along with the rest of his teammates. In 24 league games he has scored in just two and hasn't netted in 2023.
It comes with a contract ultimatum heading into the summer. The 24-year-old is expected to be sold if he doesn't commit his future to club long-term and although no final decision has been made, there is clear uncertainty around his position.
Despite this, Mount remains a popular player at the club and is a firm fan-favourite. In the swathes of support that came from his injury update - the first social media message since his announcement of leaving Twitter - club legends Didier Drogba and John Terry were quick to respond.
The Ivorian wrote: "Get well soon and come back stronger," whilst Terry added three blue hearts. Current Blues Marc Cucurella, Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell were amongst those sending good wishes.
Reece James wrote: "Soon back starboy." The right-back is also likely to miss the rest of the season after Lampard revealed their setbacks on Tuesday. "Reece James is unavailable, probably for the season. Mason Mount is the same. Potential for the last game of the season but probably not. That's obviously disappointing for us," he said.
"For all of us because they're big players. Reece had a hamstring he picked up in the Madrid game, he got through the game but we scanned it the following day. Mason has been carrying this pelvic injury for quite a while, it pre-dates myself.
"We've been trying and the medical staff have been trying but we've got to the stage now where he'll have a minor surgery. Probably a four-week recovery and we know where that gets us to."
Elsewhere on-loan winger Callum Hudson-Odoi also sent a message to Mount, saying: "Soon back brother," whilst Billy Gilmour was also in the replies.
F1 driver Lando Norris, Benoit Badiashile, Lewis Hall and others all joined in as well.
