A leading West Lothian vet performed life-saving surgery on a beloved cat that had swallowed a piece of elastic and was a whisker away from death.
Eleven-year-old Lily had a serious perforation of her intestines after swallowing an elasticated piece of string, which then became lodged dangerously in her stomach.
Lucky Lily has now recovered after receiving expert care at Linnaeus-owned Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS) in Livingston.
