Bellerin returns, Nelson reminder and potential £24m summer cash injection - Arsenal loan latest

The end is near for the majority of the Arsenal players currently out on loan. Of the 23-man strong army, Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos will not be returning this summer having agreed to join Marseille and Stuttgart on permanent deals respectively.

But for the rest - aside from Harry Clarke - time is running out for them to prove they can either be part of Mikel Arteta's plans next season or place themselves in the shop window for a permanent move elsewhere in the summer.

So how exactly have the Arsenal loanees fared over the past week? football.london takes a look as the Gunners could be in line for another windfall thanks to the performance of one player in particular.

Once again, Reiss Nelson is showing signs of promise at Feyenoord. Since returning to full fitness earlier in the month, the winger has been using the Europa Conference League to remind many of his talents. A goal against Partizan last Thursday means he contributed in both legs as the Dutch side progressed to the quarter-final three days prior to losing a five-goal thriller away at Ajax.

Lucas Torreira was also on the scoresheet - for the second successive week - opening the scoring for Fiorentina in their 1-1 draw away at defending Serie A champions Inter Milan. The midfielder's commitment to the cause can't be questioned after ripping out his own tooth to continue playing and following praise from ex-Fiorentina star Domenico Caso, the Uruguay international could hold the key to Arsenal raising extra cash in the summer transfer window.

Staying in Italy and Ainsley Maitland-Niles was once again an unused substitute in a league match as Roma beat Lazio 3-0 in the Rome derby. Although, he did have a better experience than Pablo Mari who was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Piotr Zielinski as Udinese lost to Napoli.

Folarin Balogun, who helped Middlesbrough knock Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur out of the FA Cup, was denied a unique hat-trick of cup giant killings as Chelsea emerged victorious at the Riverside Stadium to set up a semi-final meeting with Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace.

After three games without an appearance across any competition, Hector Bellerin was an unused substitute as Real Betis crashed out of the Europa League at the last-16 stage before playing 90 minutes in the goalless draw away at Celta Vigo on Sunday. Runar Alex Runarsson was in goal as Leuven drew 1-1 with RFC Seraing and Auston Trusty, a January signing, played the full game as Colorado drew with Houston.

William Saliba - and Guendouzi - helped Marseille reach the Europa Conference League quarter-final and then played their part in the 2-1 win over Nice to close the gap on Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain to 12 points. Meanwhile, in Germany, Mavropanos featured as Stuttgart's mini-revival continued with a 3-2 win over Augsburg.

Karl Hein (Reading), Tim Akinola (Dundee United), Tom Smith (Welling United), Clarke (Hibernian), Ryan Alebiosu (Crewe Alexandra) and Tyreece John-Jules (Sheffield Wednesday) all missed out for their respective loan clubs, but Matt Smith (Doncaster Rovers) and Brooke Norton-Cuffy (Lincoln City) - after successfully winning a red card appeal - featured in goalless draws.

Daniel Ballard was booked as Millwall were beaten by Stoke City, Jordi Osei-Tutu got 69 minutes under his belt as League One leaders Rotherham United were surprisingly beaten by Shrewsbury Town. Elsewhere, Jordan McEneff's seventh outing in Shelbourne colours ended in a 3-0 loss at home to Finn Harps and Nikolaj Moller is finally up and running for Den Bosch after scoring his goal against PSV U21's last week.
