Belkin’s Lilypad iPad case brings Toy Story 5’s newest character into the real world in the most functional way yet

  • Belkin has turned Toy Story 5’s Lilypad into an iPad case for 10th- and 11th-gen models
  • The movie-scale accessory features EVA foam protection, a kickstand, and a carry handle
  • It's available at Walmart now, ahead of the film hitting theaters in June

We’ve already seen some strong Toy Story 5 tie-ins — from impressive new Woody and Buzz Lightyear figures from Mattel to a real-world Lilypad 'tablet' from LeapFrog — and now Belkin is stepping into the mix with what feels like the most practical version yet.

It’s not an actual Lilypad, but a movie-scale, character-inspired case that wraps around either a 10th- or 11th-gen iPad. In other words, it transforms Apple’s most affordable tablet — and arguably the best iPad for most people — into one of the standout new characters from Toy Story 5.

Belkin is teaming up with Disney, Pixar Animation Studios, and Disney Consumer Products to bring the frog-shaped smart tablet character from the upcoming film to life as a protective, character-themed case rather than a toy or standalone device.

The Lilypad iPad Case costs $49.99 and is currently exclusive to Walmart, with wider availability coming soon via Amazon and Belkin’s own store. In Australia, the iPad case will be AU$69.95 at launch and in the UK it's £39.99.

For the price, you get a bright green EVA foam shell built for durability, with shock-absorbing protection against drops and everyday bumps. It’s clearly aimed at younger users (or nostalgic adults), using non-toxic, wipe-clean materials designed for regular handling.

Crucially, it doesn’t compromise on functionality. All key iPad controls remain fully accessible, including the power button, volume up and down, USB-C charging port, and rear cameras — meaning the iPad works exactly as it normally would, just inside a much more playful shell.

Belkin also includes a two-year warranty, adding an extra layer of reassurance for what’s likely to be a heavily used (and occasionally dropped) device accessory.

Design-wise, it leans fully into the character. Lilypad’s signature eyes sit at the top, alongside a centered carry handle for portability. On the back, a fold-out kickstand props the iPad into landscape mode for watching, drawing, or gaming, while frog-like hands wrap around the sides, and a soft-touch finish improves grip.

The comparison with other Toy Story 5 tie-ins highlights just how different Belkin’s approach is.

Mattel’s Lilypad is firmly in toy territory — a smaller figure with a compact screen and light interactivity built for play with other figures. LeapFrog’s version goes the other way entirely, and is a dedicated kids’ learning tablet built around the character.

Belkin sits between the two, but leans closest to real-world use. Rather than creating a new device or scaling the character down into a toy, it simply re-skins an existing iPad — keeping full functionality intact while adding the character design on top.

That distinction matters because this is a movie-scale interpretation of Lilypad, designed to let fans take home what could become one of the film’s breakout characters in a functional, everyday form rather than a display piece.

It also hints at something broader. With Belkin already working closely with Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, this feels less like a one-off crossover and more like a template for future character-driven tech accessories — potentially across other franchises if the concept proves popular.

If you're already sold and have a 10th- or 11th-gen iPad, you can get Belkin's Lilypad iPad Case from Walmart for $49.99. It'll launch from Belkin's online store and Amazon, among other retailers, on June 1, 2026.
