A new hotel with rooftop bar is to open in Belfast, creating dozens of jobs.
Belfast City Council’s Planning Committee approved the major application for the city, securing millions of pounds of investment.
Approval was granted for a new 256-bed hotel/aparthotel in the Titanic Quarter, on lands northwest of Hamilton Dock, adjacent to Titanic Belfast and off Queen’s Road.
The new hotel is to include both hotel and apartment-style accommodation, conference facilities, a rooftop bar and public realm works. The proposal represents an investment of £36 million and will create an estimated 620 construction jobs, as well as 70 roles upon opening.

The seven-storey hotel, developed by JMK Group, will be located just off Queen’s Road and will aim to provide high-quality accommodation and amenities to those visiting one of Belfast’s most popular tourism districts.
The building will surround a central courtyard, and will include provision for 100 parking spaces to serve the hotel, split across both ground floor and mezzanine levels, with 18 cycle parking spaces. JMK Group already operates six hotels across the UK and Ireland including four hotels in London, the Holiday Inn Express in Dublin City Centre, and the Waterford Marina Hotel.
Councillor Carl Whyte, Chair of the Planning Committee, said: "These investments are great news for Belfast, and will help towards the continued revitalisation of our city centre.
"The new hotel development at Titanic Quarter demonstrates our city’s continued appeal to visitors worldwide and shows confidence in our tourism sector, post-Covid."
