Ciaran Hinds promised he did not “sell my soul to the devil” in order to land a part in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast.
“I don’t know how I deserved it, or why I deserved it. I didn’t sell my soul to the devil,” he told ABC’s On The Red Carpet.
“But to be honoured by Ken to ask me to play his grandfather and then to throw Judi Dench (in), the great dame…it’s beyond compare.
“She’s a remarkable human being as well as a great actress.
“We had a great time very gently working out our relationship which ended up with her suffering me while I loved her.”
