A woman has been jailed for punching and kicking another woman she trailed to the ground outside a Belfast city centre pub.
Annie Elizabeth Mongan, 22, was given a three-month sentence for launching the attack as the victim socialised with friends at Robinsons Bar.
Belfast Magistrates’ Court heard Mongan, of no fixed abode, targeted the woman on August 14, 2021.

She joined a group in an outside seated area at the bar located on Great Victoria Street, but was asked to leave the table because she wasn’t making any sense.
Prosecution counsel said Mongan reacted aggressively by calling the victim “a f****** lesbian c***”.
“She then dragged the injured party to the ground and proceeded to kick and punch her,” the barrister said.
The woman suffered bruising to her spine and a sprained ankle.
When Mongan was identified and arrested at the scene she kicked a PSNI officer in the shins.
She pleaded guilty to common assault, disorderly behaviour on licensed premises and assault on police.
Defence barrister Eoghan Devlin told the court she has endured a difficult personal life.
Sentencing Mongan to three months’ custody, District Judge Amanda Henderson said: “It was a nasty assault.”
