Belfast has been named in a list of cities where Airbnb hosts earn the most in the UK.
That's according to Airbnb’s report on spare rooms 'which looks at the economic benefits for both guests and hosts who list their private rooms in the current cost of living crisis'.
The median host earnings for private rooms in Belfast in 2022 was £3,400.

Data from the Airbnb report showed a typical host of an Airbnb private room in the UK earned over £2,400 last year, earning over £170 million collectively.
In 2022, the average nightly cost for a private room on Airbnb in the UK was around £55.
Four in 10 Hosts in the UK said income earned from hosting helps them afford the rising cost of living.
The top 10 UK cities where hosts earn the most and their median earnings in 2022:
- Cambridge: £4,500
- Oxford: £4,100
- London: £3,500
- Belfast: £3,400
- Edinburgh: £3,300
- Exeter: £3,200
- Bath: £3,100
- Southampton: £3,000
- Bristol: £2,900
- Nottingham: £2,800
Last November, Airbnb reported a 31% rise in single-room listings on its platform.
Amanda Cupples, General Manager of Northern Europe at Airbnb, said: “Homes across the UK have millions of spare rooms potentially sitting idle that could be earning families an extra month’s pay.
"As living costs and mortgage payments continue to rise, this is welcome news that could be an economic lifeline for households up and down the country who can utilise space in their own homes to help make ends meet, and offer affordable accommodation options to guests from around the world.”
