As H&G's resident sleep writer, I get to test the world's best bedding on my own bed, then keep it in my linen closet to impress my guests. To this day, my bundle of Cozy Earth bedding is one of my favorites.
I tested their Bamboo Comforter and Bamboo Duvet Cover alongside their Bamboo Mattress Pad, and I can't recommend them highly enough. I'd particularly encourage hot sleepers to give bamboo a go: it's naturally thermoregulating and moisture-wicking, just the thing to combat night sweats and hot flashes.
In my search to find the world's best comforter, I've learned the difference that premium materials and expert craftsmanship can make. Cozy Earth bedding is designed to enhance breathability and maximize comfort to suit every sort of sleeper. Sure, their stuff is expensive, but you get serious value for money when you shop with Cozy Earth.

Who will Cozy Earth Bamboo Bedding suit?
- Hot sleepers: these pieces are made from 100% premium viscose from bamboo for breathability. Each of those natural fibers is perforated with microscopic holes to dissipate heat and wick moisture. Bamboo bedding is a great choice for hot sleepers, warmer climates, and the summer months.
- Sensitive sleepers: bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic. It's a lot softer on your skin than something synthetic and scratchy, such as polyester.
- Germaphobes: bamboo is also antimicrobial to bust the bacteria that breed in hot, damp environments, such as bedrooms.
- Eco-conscious shoppers: bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that you aren't depleting the Earth of her natural resources. Plus, Cozy Earth prides itself on working with ethical factories and direct supply chains.
What's it like to sleep on Cozy Earth Bamboo Bedding?
First things first: the Bamboo Mattress Pad. I'd put it right up there with the best mattress protectors on the market. This thing is pretty, as well as practical: it feels silky and smooth between your fingers and never rustles as you toss and turn.
Next, the Bamboo Comforter and the Bamboo Duvet Cover. I'm used to sleeping under cotton percale, which feels crisp and cool, so I appreciated the softness of the bamboo bedding. Bamboo is, technically, a kind of down alternative, a catch-all term that encompasses any duvet fill other than duck and goose feathers. I found it plenty breathable, and a better option for eco-conscious shoppers, but it lacks a little of the loft of the best down comforter.
I only have one real complaint about Cozy Earth bedding. It concerns the Bamboo Comforter, the Bamboo Duvet Cover, and exactly how those pieces fit together. The Bamboo Comforter features a dozen or so anchor loops, dotted along the sides, while the Duvet Cover features interior snaps. In order to connect the pieces, you need to loop the cover snaps through the anchor loops. That doesn't sound too hard, but it's pretty time-consuming: it took me a good hour to pop each piece into place. If you're looking for something a little lower-maintenance, I suggest you shop the Scooms Hungarian Goose Down Duvet: it couldn't be easier to adjust that duvet.
How does Cozy Earth Bamboo Bedding rate online?
Let's take it piece by piece. The Bamboo Comforter is one of Cozy Earth's best-loved items, with a near-perfect 4.9-star average from 948 ratings. That's a lot of happy customers. The words 'soft', 'cozy', and 'comfortable' appear again and again throughout the reviews. I had to wade through fifteen pages of reviews before I came across my first real complaint from a customer who struggled to keep warm under the standard fill comforter. It's worth noting that this reviewer sampled the Bamboo Comforter during winter in Wisconsin, where you'd be hard-pressed to find any comforter to keep you cozy.
Although the Bamboo Duvet Cover boasts another 4.9-star average, there are a smattering of more mixed reviews. Plenty of customers share my concerns that the duvet cover is so cumbersome to attach to the comforter, though almost everybody agrees that the look and feel you get in the end is worth the time and effort.
The Bamboo Mattress Pad also has a 4.9-star average from 431 reviews. The vast majority of the reviews praise the breathability and the softness of the mattress pad, but one short and sweet comment sticks in the mind: 'It really works!' It's hard to believe that such a thin layer could make a big difference to your bed, but the Bamboo Mattress Pad really does.
Should I buy Cozy Earth Bamboo Bedding?
There's no getting around it: Cozy Earth bedding is seriously expensive. If you were to buy the Bamboo Mattress Pad, the Bamboo Comforter, and the Bamboo Duvet Cover in a Queen size at full price, you'd have to pay $1,155. It's a lot of money to spend on bedding, and that's before you add the best bed sheets and the best pillow into the equation. If you're buying on a budget, I recommend you skip Cozy Earth altogether and shop at one of the best places to buy affordable bedding, instead.
Then again, the reason that Cozy Earth bedding is so expensive is because it's so good. Each piece is made from authentic bamboo viscose and engineered for breathability. The price you pay reflects the time, money and effort that went into making Cozy Earth bedding in the first place.
If you only buy one piece from Cozy Earth, make it the mattress pad: I couldn't believe how soft and silky it feels, a far cry from those cheap synthetic substitutes you'll find on Amazon. If you're determined to shop the whole set, I recommend you take a look through the bedding sales to get each piece at a deep discount.
How we test bedding
We put a lot of thought into how we test bedding. It's more than a matter of sleeping on the job. Our expert testers sample bedding sets for weeks, if not months, to monitor their performance over time and see how well each piece withstands the wear and tear of the washing machine.
'Bedding' is a catch-all term that encompasses a whole host of products. In the case of Cozy Earth, we're talking comforters, duvet covers, and mattress pads, amongst other items on the site. Every bit of the best bedding should look good, feel good, and wash well, but perfect performance varies from piece to piece. It's more important that a mattress pad is waterproof to guard against spills and stains than for it to come in a wide range of colors. This aesthetic argument is more applicable to a duvet cover, which is one of the first things you see when you look at a bed.
Our testing process for bedding is pretty simple. We sleep on it and see how we feel. We test comforters for loft and breathability, as well as look and feel, while we test mattress pads for waterproofing and thermoregulation. We cross-check our findings against verified customer reviews to offer a range of experience, then bring it all back to the price to help you determine value for money.
