Before becoming a major philanthropist, Laurene Powell Jobs spent three years trading fixed-income securities on Wall Street

Before Laurene Powell Jobs became known for philanthropy, education, climate initiatives and media ownership, her professional life began on Wall Street. After studying at the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School, she joined Goldman Sachs, where she spent three years working in fixed-income trading strategy under Jon Corzine. It was a relatively brief chapter, but it gave her experience in financial markets before her career moved in a very different direction. Reportedly, Powell Jobs met Steve Jobs in 1989 while studying for an MBA at Stanford University, and the couple married two years later.
