Residents on Burton Road say they are "scared" after waking up to a huge cordon outside their front door in Beeston.
Police have cordoned off Burton Road, near Hunslet Moor Primary School, following an overnight incident. West Yorkshire Police are yet to confirm exactly why the cordon is in place.
But residents in the area have told Leeds Live they believe the cordon is in place after a "serious" incident, adding police are in the area "every day."

Christopher Smith, 55, has lived in the area for 12 years. He said: "I have heard it is a burglary that's gone wrong, so it must be something serious. You see police down here every day. It doesn't really bother me because I can handle myself, but it's more the kids and the women."
Vera Safouaa, 28, said she did not hear any commotion in the street overnight. "I just saw it when I answered the door," she said. "I've seen no police until now. Nothing. It's somewhat scary because you wonder what is happening and what has happened.
"It's confusing. I usually hear the siren, but I've never seen it like this here. It's a bit scary because I don't know the reason behind it."
And an employee in the nearby Tesco Express told Leeds Live reporter Kristian Johnson "You must be the 999th person to ask what's happened" after being approached this morning (Mon). "The police were already here when I got to work," they said.
Leeds Live has contacted West Yorkshire Police for a comment on the cordon.
