A Nottinghamshire town is having 900 metres of water pipes replaced as a part of a £250,000 scheme. Severn Trent is working on a £4 million project across the county, which involves upgrading the network and replacing 7km of water pipes.
Work is set to take place in Beeston on Wollaton Vale and the A52, near Priory Island. The upgrades to the pipework are set to begin from April 3 and be completed by April 16.
Delays will be likely for motorists as road closures and lane closures are set to take place during the works. Rebecca Ball, Community Communications Officer at Severn Trent, said: “By renewing our infrastructure, we’re ensuring that our network is ready to meet the demands of a changing climate and growing population, which can be put addition pressures on the network.
