As January comes around many people will be looking to the annual 'Veganuary' trend. The month-long campaign encourages people to ditch the meat.
Beefeater is now encouraging customers to try be a 'leafeater' by offering a range of delicious plant-based options. For those who might not want to go full vegan, there's also halloumi options at its 170 sites nationwide.
The meat-free dishes offer a range of burgers, grills, and deserts. There's also a wallet-friendly lunch menu offering two courses at £8.95 or three courses at £10.95.
Best known for its grill dishes, the chain says January is time for its plant menu to shine, led by its vegan creation, The Sloppy Joe. The dish boasts a Garden Gourmet Sensational vegan patty with burger sauce, a cheezy vegan slide and a sloppy joe mix of green lentils, peppers, soya, all topped with chipotle sauce.
If you don't quite fancy going full vegan, then there's the Hallo-Me burger. The dish is made from grilled halloumi, mushroom, roasted red pepper and avocado, layered with lashings of mayonnaise, onion confit, lettuce, tomatoes and red onion.
Other highlights include cauliflower popcorn in a light and crispy batter, served with Beefeater’s signature ‘74 BBQ’ sauce, and the mixed vegetable grill combo with a medley of chargrilled halloumi, red peppers, mushrooms, seasoned corn and roasted tomatoes. Finish off from a choice of tempting desserts, including the irresistible vegan Chocolate Layer Torte, topped with freeze-dried raspberries and raspberry sauce, and the popular Churros with Kit Kat, coated in cinnamon sugar and served with KitKat spread and crumb.
For dining on a budget, diners can also find a host of meat-free treats on the daytime menu, running from Monday-Friday between 12pm-5pm, with three courses for £10.95. Couple your meal with Beefeater’s vast array of craft beers, wines and bottled ciders, as well as a selection of low and no alcohol options, including a variety of sodas such as raspberry and rhubarb and cherry Bakewell.
Running from January and beyond, Beefeater’s meat-free menu is available at over 170 restaurants across the UK. Head to www.beefeater.co.uk to find your nearest site and book your spot.
