Beckham's London mansion broken into while David and Victoria at home with Harper

The West London mansion of David and Victoria Beckham was broken into and “thousands of pounds” worth of items were stolen, it has been reported. The burglary of the couple’s Kensington home is believed to have occurred late in the evening while the Beckhams were at home with their 10-year-old daughter on Monday, February 28.

According to the Sun newspaper, the break-in was not discovered until son, Cruz Beckham, 17, returned home from a night out and found a broken window, with glass lying on the floor, according to The Sun. A spare bedroom had also been “ransacked”.

Beckham and Cruz searched the house for the intruder while waiting for police to arrive. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that officers had responded to reports of a burglary at a residential address on the W11 area of Kensington shortly around midnight on March 1.

It is believed the theft had taken place between 8.30pm and 11.30pm. They added that a number of items were reported stolen.

No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are continuing. According to the Sun, the missing items included “thousands of pounds of designer and electric goods" but none of them were of sentimental value.

A source told The Sun: "Sadly the Beckham's were the victims of some fairly professional thieves who have been operating in the area. Fortunately the criminals only made it as far as one bedroom before they ran off."

Security at the house is "very good, both physically and technically", the source said. The break in reportedly took place weeks before the wedding of their eldest child, Brooklyn, to billionaire's daughter and actress Nicola Peltz.
