This is what it was like in Oldham this morning after some parts of the region were hit with snow. After a week of glorious sun, temperatures plummeted as low as -1C overnight in Greater Manchester.
These images from Saddleworth in Oldham show hills steeped in snow, gritters on the roads and farm animals having to contend with the freezing conditions due to the Arctic blast that is making its way through Britain.

Yesterday (March 30) the Met Office, said that snow could fall at around 7am as the mercury remains low.
This morning residents in parts of Tameside, Oldham and Manchester reported of waking up to the snow and transport bosses had to warn motorists - about disruptions on the roads due to the cold weather.

In a tweet, TfGM said: "It's a cold start across GM and snow is falling, particularly over eastern areas. Take extra care on roads and pavements and allow extra travel time. Some bus services may also be delayed, check with the operator before travel. Plan ahead for an easier journey."
