Beating Aberdeen can kick-start our season again, says Motherwell star

Ross Tierney Aberdeen Motherwell Pittodrie Kevin van Veen Dons SNS Group

Ross Tierney hopes a win over Aberdeen can kick-start Motherwell’s season just like it did back in August.

The Dons visit Fir Park this afternoon, keen to avenge a 3-2 defeat up at Pittodrie on August 13, in a game that underlined boss Stevie Hammell’s credentials, leading to him being handed the manager’s job at Motherwell.

That win, with goals from Blair Spittall Callum Slattery and Kevin van Veen, gave the Steelmen a real boost, and after four defeats in five games this month, Tierney hopes three points can have a similar effect.
