Well, there it is, the Beast of Reincarnation itself. We sent a crew to Japan to give you another glimpse of Game Freak's upcoming action RPG ahead of its August 4 launch, and we learned a whole lot about protagonist Emma and the Blight that's affecting the world.

Game director Kota Furushima explained that the world has been ravaged by the Blight, a malignance stemming from the titular beast of reincarnation that corrupts all living things, from plants to animals and even Emma herself; it transforms them into Malefacts, and our doggo pal Koo is one as well—so, they can't all be bad.
