Tracking the Bears’ cuts before Tuesday’s 3 p.m. deadline:
Wednesday
2:30 p.m.: The Bears plan to put guard Teven Jenkins on injured reserve, which would keep him the first four weeks of the season, general manager Ryan Poles said.
12:30 p.m.: The Bears waived safety A.J. Thomas and defensive end Terrell Lewis.
12 p.m.: The Bears signed 11 players to the practice squad, all who participated in training camp: linebacker Micah Baskerville, defensive tackle Travis Bell, fullback Robert Burns, tight end Stephen Carlson, tackle Aviante Collins, linebacker DeMarquis Gates, defensive lineman Jalen Harris, tackle Roy Mbaeteka, cornerback Greg Stroman Jr., receiver Nsimba Webster and safety Kendall Williamson.
11:45 a.m.: Former Bears cornerback Kindle Vildor was claimed off waivers by the #Titans.
11 a.m.: The Bears signed returner/wide receiver Trent Taylor, who was released by the Bengals. They claimed defensive end Khalid Kareem off waivers from the Colts and safety Quindell Johnson from the Rams.
Tuesday
3:55 p.m.: The Bears announced their list of cuts Tuesday. In addition to the players listed earlier the day, the Bears cut tight end Stephen Carlson, safety Macon Clark, tackle Dieter Eiselen, defensive end Trevis Gipson, defensive end Jalen Harris, defensive lineman D’Anthony Jones, offensive lineman Josh Lugg, defensive lineman Bravvion Roy, linebacker Davion Taylor, safety Bralen Trahan, cornerback Kindle Vildor, linebacker Barrington Wade, linebacker Mykal Walker and safety Kendall Williamson.
They released the following veterans: defensive lineman Andrew Brown, quarterback Nathan Peterman and cornerback Greg Stroman.
They put receiver Isaiah Ford on injured reserve
1:30 p.m.: The Bears are waiving offensive tackle Roy Mbaeteka, a source said.
12:50 p.m.: Offensive tackle Aviante Collins is being released with an intent to sign him to the practice squad, a source said.
12:41 p.m.: Fullback Robert Burns is being released, a source said.
12:30 p.m.: Rookie defensive tackle Travis Bell, a seventh-round pick, is being waived. He could return to the Bears as a practice squad player.
12:20 p.m.; Running back Trestan Ebner, who had 24 carries for 54 yards last year, being waived with an injury designation, a source said.
11:40 a.m.: The Bears will waive tight end Stephen Carlson, a source said.
11:40 a.m.: The Bears will waive linebacker DeMarquis Gates, a source said.
Monday
10:40 p.m.: The Bears are trading for guard Dan Feeney, the Carl Sandburg High School alum born in Orland Park. They’re sending a sixth-round pick to the Dolphins, a source told the Sun-Times.
The Dolphins gave Feeney a one-year deal worth $3.25 million in March, with all but $100,000 of it guaranteed. The Bears will inherit that contract. A former third-round pick of the Chargers, Feeney has started 64 career games. He played only 109 snaps for the Jets last year, and all but six came at right guard.
He’ll give the Bears insurance at both guard spots. Left guard Teven Jenkins, who had a walking boot on his right foot, could miss the start of the season.
4:05 p.m.: Receiver/returner Nsimba Webster, who appeared in eight games over the last two years with the Bears, is getting cut, a source confirmed. Webster returned four punts for the Bears in 2021 and appeared in a combined 76 special teams snaps the past two years. He’s a contender to return to the Bears’ practice squad.
4 p.m.: Backup tackle Kellen Diesch, whom the Bears signed at this time last year after the Dolphins cut him, is being released, a source said.
3:50 p.m.: Cornerback Michael Ojemudia, a Broncos third-round pick out of Iowa in 2020, is being cut, a source confirmed. He started 11 games in 2020 and one since.
12:38 p.m.: Tight end Lachlan Pitts is being waived, a source confirmed.
11:40 a.m.: The Bears are waiving offensive lineman Robert Haskins, a source said.
11:10 a.m.: The Bears are cutting receiver Daurice Fountain, a source confirmed. He led the Bears in both catches and receiving yards this preseason with seven and 116, respectively.
Sunday
6:55 p.m.: Tackle Gabe Houy was waived with an injury designation. He was carted off the field Saturday with a right leg injury Saturday.
6:45 p.m.: The Bears waived guard Alex Leatherwood, a former Raiders first-round pick whom they claimed just a year ago. The Bears owe Leatherwood $4.59 million unless he gets claimed — and that’s unlikely. The Raiders’ No. 17 pick in 2021, Leatherwood never helped the Bears. He got mononucleosis shortly after the Bears claimed him on waivers and played only 32 snaps off the bench last year.
6:15 p.m.: The Bears released P.J. Walker, who was given a two-year, $4 million in contract in March to be the team’s second-string quarterback and a veteran sounding board for starter Justin Fields. Walker struggled during training camp, both in practices and games. Walker finished the preseason with a 55.7 passer rating after going 6-for-11 for 71 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter against Bills third- and fourth-stringers.
Rookie Tyson Bagent is in line to be the Bears’ second stringer.
Friday
2 p.m.: The Bears put receiver Dante Pettis on injured reserve, ending his season. Pettis was put on the reserve/non-football injury list to start camp but was activated Aug. 9. He played in the team’s second exhibition game, against the Colts, but was hurt during it and didn’t practice last week.
