The Chicago Bears returned to the practice field on Saturday for their final practice before the pads come on Monday. But once again, offensive tackle Teven Jenkins wasn’t spotted at practice.
Jenkins has now missed three consecutive practices after participating during the first practice on Wednesday.
Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Friday that Jenkins is “working through something with trainers” and “when he’s able to return, he’ll return.”
While Eberflus declined to say whether Jenkins is injured, it’s a safe assumption at this point.

It’s certainly a concern given Jenkins’ injury history. Jenkins dealt with a back injury that forced him to miss most of training camp last summer. It eventually required surgery, and he missed most of his rookie season while he recovered.
Jenkins is competing with Larry Borom for the starting right tackle job. Borom was already the presumed favorite for the role, and Jenkins missing time certainly isn’t helping his chances.
