It’s not enough that the Chicago Bears lost their ninth straight game to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. They were basically run off the field in the organization’s 30th defeat to Green Bay since 2003, looking predictably flat in a matchup that now only brews frustration for Chicago fans. And it appears some of their players have a stunning lack of self-awareness about the dire straits Bears fans are feeling.
After receiver D.J. Moore expressed shock that Chicago’s supporters would boo in the second quarter Monday, safety Jaquan Brisker followed those thoughts up, practically begging for Bears fans to be more patient and cut the team some slack.
Never mind that Brisker takes any opportunity to talk trash about opponents — despite accomplishing nothing in the league. He clearly doesn’t get “it,” and the 2023 Bears haven’t even played a second game. What a potential harbinger of doom.
While emphasizing he understands where Bears fans are coming from and their frustration, safety Jaquan Brisker also wishes fans would "have our back" more and not boo so early in games.
"The Bears fans should have our back a lot more and be patient," Brisker says.

Bears fans reside in perhaps the most football-starved city in the country. A fan who is 30 years old has been alive for eight winning seasons, seven playoff berths, and one measly conference title in three decades. The last time the franchise was a consistent playoff contender, Ronald Reagan was President. So, there is a lot of understandable pent-up resentment and anger with an organization that continues to cut corners and step on rakes seemingly every chance it gets.
And rather than look inward, the latest iteration of the Bears is already pointing fingers at people who would sacrifice so much just to catch a glimpse of this team. Brisker’s Bears simply do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. The people in Chicago have seen this depressing movie before and only grow more impatient and angry by the year.
They’re desperate for a winner that doesn’t embarrass itself every week, and they deserve better.
This was how Twitter reacted to Brisker's comments
Sorry dude but i don't recommend getting on the mic and saying this after that performance. https://t.co/BZ6NhCBMu6

With all due respect, and I like Jaquan VERY much,
The team is 3-15 going back to last year. We as a fanbase understood last year’s goal. But eventually we need to see progress. It’s not 2022 and we shouldn’t be playing for another pick.
We care that’s why the boos come. https://t.co/knk8M3L8Ie

Ronald Reagan was president the last time the Bears won the Super Bowl.
Jaquan Brisker was born 13 years later. We are painfully patient young man. Keep grinding. https://t.co/1UADjbTw5C

Fans were so loud in the first half the Packers had trouble calling plays. Sorry they weren't high-fiving when the team zombie walked into the 2nd half and sat around pouting after visibly giving up in the 3rd quarter https://t.co/8nFtlrhxYn

I swear the players just dont get the context of Bears fans booing them at times. Brisker is taking us to task for booing during the 1st game of the year when Bears fans are booing because we've been watching the team play like this for the past THIRTY YEARS
That's why we boo #9 https://t.co/HnRj1Rd7US

What Jaquan Brisker doesn't understand is some of us have been patient for well before he got here last year.
This isn't a 2022 or 2023 thing. It's been building for decades. https://t.co/6tfDrTaTiR

The team hasn't won a superbowl since 85 and won 3 games last season. How much patience are we expecting here https://t.co/homKXaS6em

We’re a week in and this is already among my least favorite teams I’ve watched https://t.co/kgBK6M6OTp

I mean you get smoked at home against Green Bay, defense didn’t show up, offense didn’t show up. Give fans something to cheer about and they will have your back in games. https://t.co/tDeQdwGIOH

This is the Tim Anderson school of thought.
The fans will be behind you if you play better. It's simple. https://t.co/JKCiwdk3Rc

I don't ever feel the fans are booing the players. They are booing the play calling, the coaches and the organization as a whole. It's frustration. It isn't personal to players. https://t.co/L0k5eve8G9
