The name most mentioned as a quarterback option for the Pittsburgh Steelers is current Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. For many fans, it is a trade for Fields or bust. But what does Fields want to do?
Well, he was on the St. Brown Brothers podcast and talked about whether or not he wants to be traded and he made it very clear he wants to stay in Chicago.
Yeah, of course, of course, I want to stay. To be honest, with all the talk, it’s hard to just boom, be in one place, but I can’t see myself playing in another place. I know how the league is. I mean, if it was up to me, I would want to stay in Chicago. I love the city, the city is lit. The fans there, they’re great, and the people. But it’s a business and I ain’t got no control over it. So whatever happens, happens. But I feel like the biggest thing with all this right now is I just want it to be over. Just let me know if I’m getting traded, let me know if I’m staying because I like watching film in the offseason.
Fields did note that his favorite road stadium to play in was in Pittsburgh but nevertheless, Fields seems very committed to the Bears if they will have him. It isn’t clear how much of the talk about Fields is just smoke or even where the Steelers stand on their current quarterbacks or the plan for the upcoming season.
