Bears quarterback Justin Fields took a beating in Thursday night’s 12-7 loss to the Commanders.
Fields was sacked five times, but he took hit after hit from Washington’s defense. There were a couple of times when Fields was laid out and struggled to his feet. With Fields constantly under duress, it almost felt like you were waiting for one of those hits to knock him out of the game.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen. But Fields didn’t escape unscathed.
“I’m hurting. Hurting pretty good,” Fields said after the game. “But we got a long weekend, so I will have some extra time to heal up.”
Fields told reporters that he reaggravated a left shoulder injury from a while back, which 670 the Score’s Mark Grote noted was a dislocation. Fields was spotted using a resistance band in the third quarter.
“I was just trying to keep the muscles activating and just keep it moving,” he said.
Justin Fields. “I’m hurting.”
Fields told me it’s his left shoulder. A left shoulder which he dislocated before. Says he Will get treatment over the next few days, and was very confident in saying that he will play in the Monday nighter.

Fields was able to finish the game, where he nearly led the Bears to a game-winning touchdown. Unfortunately, Chicago stalled on fourth-and-goal, and they lost their third straight game.
As for Fields’ health, he sounded confident about his availability for next Monday night’s game against the Patriots. The Bears have a mini-bye week this week after playing on Thursday night, so it’ll give Fields some extra time to heal.
