Buy Bears TicketsAs you can imagine, it wasn’t a pretty scene in the locker room after the game, which NBC Sports Chicago described as “shell-shocked.” Here’s how players like Justin Fields, DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, DeMarcus Walker, T.J. Edwards and Justin Jones reacted after Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.
QB Justin Fields
“All we need is one to get this thing going,” Fields said. “The Lions started 1-6 last year and they almost made the playoffs. Just keep that faith. In the big picture, it’s the third game of the season. We got 14 left, at least.”
TE Cole Kmet
“We just got our ass kicked,” Kmet said, via NBC Sports Chicago. “That’s number one. I can’t think of a game that I had in a long time that looked like that.”
DE DeMarcus Walker
“Honestly, it’s a reality check for all three phases,” Walker said, via via NBC Sports Chicago.
He added: “Coaches trust the players Players trust the coaches. But it got to be 50/50. It can’t be 60/40, 70/30.”
Do they trust the coaches?
“You got no other choice,” Walker said. “Of course we do.”
DT Justin Jones
“Keep pounding the rock, man,” Jones said, via NBC Sports Chicago. “They are a good team. No doubt about it. But we still got players, good coaches. We got a good team. We got to keep the unit together and keep progressing.”
WR DJ Moore
“I don’t know,” Moore said, via NBC Sports Chicago. “Reality as in we got to stick together. What? These next two weeks, we got Denver, and then after that, we got Commanders, got to find a way to win those two and not be 0-5 or 0-4.”
LB T.J. Edwards
“I don’t think anyone is freaking out or losing their mind, but we got to have a sense of urgency,” Edwards said, via NBC Sports Chicago. “We got to get going and play some good football. There’s no time to waste in this league. You never know.”
