For the better part of three decades, the Green Bay Packers have held almost complete dominion over their historic rival, the Chicago Bears. The difference in quality between the two was especially stark during the Aaron Rodgers era, where Chicago beat Green Bay a grand total of five times in Rodgers’ 15 years as a starter.
This has been less of a “rivalry” and more of an appointment date for the Bears to take a beating and requisite dip in the NFC North standings.
Judging by how Bears defensive tackle Justin Jones spouted off on Tuesday, he seems to expect the tide to change in favor of Chicago’s blue and orange. And soon. That or a non-star defender in just his second year at Halas Hall wants to deliver Bears fans their favorite red meat — a burning hatred of Packers fans.

I don’t deny that Jones probably does really hate the Packers and their fans. I’m sure he really does believe that the new-look Bears behind Justin Fields would fare better against Rodgers if he was still a member of the Packers. But I’m also certain this speech was Jones finding a (rather obvious) outlet to pander to a fanbase desperate to see the Packers and their fans where they think they belong — in the NFL’s basement.
What most convinces me is how Jones seamlessly pivots from his Rodgers disposition to a random jumble of “obnoxious” insults about Green Bay supporters. That is a man who understands how to become royalty in Chicago. Say you despise the Packers while actually wearing a Bears uniform, and you’ll never have to buy a dinner within the city limits again.
Well, as long as you actually help defeat the Packers. Given the limited sample size on that front, results may vary.
This was how Twitter reacted to Jones' obvious pandering about Packers hatred

Justin (Jones) my guy we gotta watch what we say 😂 Gonna get half the city of Chicago buried alive if Week 1 doesn’t go to plan 😂

Similarly. Justin Jones does not know what beating the Packers as a Bear is like. https://t.co/ZrwBJhTlpw

Apparently Justin Jones is going into his 6th season – I've never heard of him but he played about 2/3 of snaps for the Bears last season.
I don't study many depth charts, but he hasn't done anything to capture my attention. I must be in the half that don't even know football 😉 https://t.co/trqW3PLkhV

Justin Jones went after the Patriots and deflategate last year. He is starting 2023 going after Packer fans- "Their fans are shitty. Half of them don't even know football."
Get yourself that 93 jersey.

The #Bears have 1 win against the #Packers since Justin Jones has been in the NFL.
Green Bay was +36 last year in 2 games against Jones and the Bears during one of the worst Packers seasons of the last 20 years.
If he feels good about the way CHI "handled" Rodgers then LOL

Justin Jones just gave us an all-time Bears vs. Packers rivalry quote.
I'm going to wait until he's done talking to post the full thing but just know he literally just called Packers fans "shitty"
