BBC3 Hungry For It: Line up for new cookery series, what it's all about and who presents it

Another cooking programme is coming to the BBC hot on the heels of the success of Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars which saw a Welsh contestant accidentally feed honey to vegans. Hungry For It on BBC Three will follow 10 rookie chefs learning how to make it in the food business.

There will be two professional chefs mentoring the 10 contestants and plenty of celebrity guests and stars who will make an appearance. Joining the show for different episodes will also be industry experts - from Nando's general manager to food photographers.

What is Hungry For It about?

Hungry For It will follow 10 rookie cooks learning everything they need to know to make it in the food business. They are also competing to win a culinary trip of a lifetime which is sure to give their careers a big boost.

Who is presenting Hungry For It?

Journalist Stacey Dooley will be back on BBC Three presenting Hungry For It. She is known for presenting hard-hitting documentaries about serious topics like stalking, whale hunting, and abuse and previously she presented Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star on BBC Three before she was replaced by Maya Jama.

Speaking about presenting the show, Stacey said: "I really like the premise and the emphasis placed on genuine contributors. They really do have a passion for food and we learn a lot about them and their heritage. It also feels slightly newer than some of the other food shows that are on the scene."

Who are the professional mentors for Hungry For It?

TV chef Big Zuu and personal celebrity chef Chef Kay Kay will be guiding the ten contestants through the show. Big Zuu is known for presenting his show Big Zuu's Big Eats and is related to rapper AJ Tracey.

Chef Kay Kay is the personal chef for many celebrities including Drake, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato. Speaking about being on the show Chef Kay Kay said: "Zuu was like a little brother and Stacey was my fashion queen. We just got along so well, lots of laughing and talking, it was just always fun. After the first day it was like we’d known each other forever, we just clicked."

When is Hungry For It on TV?

There are eight episodes in the series (BBC)

Hungry For It will begin on BBC Three on Tuesday, June, 7 at 8pm. There are eight hour-long episodes in the series. The series will continue to air on BBC Three on Tuesday, June, 14 at 8pm.
