BBC One has suspended its regular programming schedule as news emerges about the Queen. The One Show and EastEnders are among the shows that won't air on Thursday night as news on the Queen's health began emerging from Balmoral and the Queen's family members arrived to be at her side.
Regular broadcasting was interrupted earlier in the day during Bargain Hunt, as a BBC newsreader confirmed: "Welcome to viewers on BBC One. We have had news from Buckingham Palace that The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral." She then detailed concern for the monarch's health, and the news remained on air instead of returning to usual programming.
It has now been confirmed that further programmes have been pulled from the BBC's Thursday schedule. ITV News will also broadcast a special news programme from 5pm with presenter Mary Nightingale. Read on for all the flagship shows that have been cancelled.
The broadcaster began airing a BBC News Special with presenter Huw Edwards dressed in a dark suit, white shirt and black tie, in line with the BBC's dress code for when a member of the royal family dies as a mark of respect.

The shows that will not air this evening include The One Show, when Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas were set to be joined by Joy Crookes and Self Esteem backstage at the Mercury Prize. According to the BBC TV guide, magician Stephen Mulhern and cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason were also scheduled to be in the studio.
On EastEnders, Thursday's episode would have seen Freddie continue to search for answers about his father, and Celebrity Masterchef semi-finals, as well as Ambulance, the fifth episode, which would have seen The North East Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance Service work as a team after multiple urgent 999 calls alert them to a collision on the A1.
