BBC The Traitors viewers were left stunned by the show's intense finale and seeing Scots star Meryl Williams, Hannah Byczkowski, and Aaron Evans take home the jackpot.
The three winners banished 'traitors' Wilfred Webster and Kieran Tompsett in the final episode, meaning that Meryl, 25, Hannah, 32, and Aaron, 24, all took home an impressive £33,000 winnings. After successfully sussing out the Traitors, host Claudia Winkleman told them the good news and said: "Guys, I am so, so happy for the three of you," before Edinburgh call centre worker Meryl screamed: "We have thirty three f****** grand."
Now, after winning the jackpot prize between the three of them, the finalists appeared on Friday's instalment of This Morning to talk all about their experience on the show. Speaking to hosts Andi Peters and Josie Gibson, the trio dished all about their time in Scotland filming the BBC reality show.
Andi and Josie got straight into the question on everyone's mind asking the how they felt once Wilf was revealed to be a 'traitor'. Hannah admitted that finding out the amount of money she won helped soften the blow from Wilf's betrayal.
She said: 'When Wilf said he was a traitor, I was like, 'Well we've just won a hundred grand,' before Meryl chimed in: "I was so shocked. I was sad to lose my friend but I wanted to get out the traitors. It's hard to differentiate between friendships and contestants because we built such strong good friendships in there."
The group also praised their "amazing" host Claudia Winkleman as they gushed over working with the star. Claudia, who also hosts Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, took the contestants through a journey of secrecy and betrayal in the BBC show.
When asked by Andi about working with her, Meryl said: "Amazing. She literally immersed herself in the show. She really had us on her side when we were doing missions."
Hannah added: "She was so incredibly supportive, like when you needed a hug because in there you've got no contact you're not in touch with your family.
"Claudia was always there to give us a hug and warm words. Sometimes shouting at us, but fair enough."
Chiming in, Andi added: "I think she'd be a good hugger," before Meryl, Hannah and Aaron all agree that Claudia gives amazing hugs.
It's been reported that the reality TV game show will return next year for a second series, and Claudia is expected to return as the host.
A TV insider has told Daily Star: "The Traitors has become a big hit after just a few weeks. It was a no-brainer to commission another series. Everyone is hoping it will be even more popular by next year and become one of the biggest shows on TV."
