Last night viewers were on the edge of their seats during the latest nail-biting instalment of the psychological BBC show, The Traitors.
In the end It was decided by the Traitors that Scots actor John McManus would be murdered, meaning that the 49-year-old was automatically eliminated from the process.
Speaking about leaving the show, John said: "I was popular. People liked me. So maybe it was, you know, a target on my back, but I wouldn't have it any other way."
The remaining contestants were completely shocked by the decision that was made by the undercover traitors. They toasted to John's time in the competition, with traitor Amanda saying: "Whatever everyone does think of John, he was a big part of all of us."
He also shared a post on Instagram, writing: "So last night I was murdered on #thetraitors never thought I’d say that on social media ! However, it's not all bad for John, who previously starred in EastEnders as, despite not scooping the £120,000 prize, he has his merchandise business which is set to make him plenty cash.
John's online shop sells various different items such as t-shirts, mugs, tote bags and hoodies with the slogan 'My #stagefave is John Mcmanus' which is a nod to his acting career.
The 49-year-old first graduated from the Arts Educational Schools London in 1995 and went on to feature in performances in one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's best-loved musicals, Cats the Musical, back in 2020.
The aim of 'The Traitors' game is the "ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust," in the hope of winning up to £120,000.
Hidden amongst the contestants are three 'Traitors' whose job it is to 'murder' a player every night, without being sussed out. It's then up to the 'Faithfuls' to try and work out who the traitors are and banish them before they themselves are murdered.
The players compete in a series of missions, the more missions they win, the bigger the prize pot. The show, produced for the BBC by Studio Lambert Associates, promises to bring twists, turns and surprises for the players.
For the lucky ones who survive to the end, they have the chance of scooping the big jackpot, however, if a traitor remains undetected, they’ll take all the money.
The show is hosted by Claudia Winkleman and has had viewers hooked since the get go.
