Fans of The Responder are thrilled after the BBC programme was renewed for a second season.
The first series of the Liverpool-set thriller arrived on our screens to widespread critical acclaim earlier this year. The show was written by former Merseyside Police officer Tony Schumacher and was inspired by his experiences working for the force.
The Responder stars Martin Freeman as Chris Carson, a morally compromised urgent response officer tackling a series of night shifts on the beat in Liverpool. The last episode of the series ended as Chris and his partner, Rachel Hargreaves, drove away in the police car to take on another gruelling shift.
