BBC The One Show viewers do a double take over Tom Daley's appearance on the show

The One Show viewers were left doing a double take as Tom Daley appeared on the show to chat about his latest venture. The Olympic diver joined Queen superstar Adam Lambert on the BBC One show's famous green sofa as they were interviewed by hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating.

After introducing both men onto the sofa, hosts Alex and Ronan were quick to speak about Tom's knitting that was uncovered during the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Alex claimed that she couldn't believe that it's been more than two years since the photo they showed on-screen of Tom hard at work with he knitting needles was taken.

It is then he went on to talk about how his hobby has turned into his latest career move which is his new podcast, Made With Love, in which the sportsman speaks to a celebrity guest each week to learn how they’ve turned their passion into a purpose.

And they even get a little knitting gift from the host for their appearance. "With knitting, I found a second passion in life," Tom shared as he went to speak about his podcast. "It’s all about speaking with people about the thing they love, the thing they love to do, their passions and how they made that thing that they do every day.

"It’s been really interesting to hear so many different people’s thoughts on what it was they thought they were passionate about when they were younger and how they translated that into a business and the thing that they’re able to do every single day and never feel like work."

But as Tom chatted, The One Show viewers appeared more distracted by his outfit - despite Adam's flamboyant attire.

While the singer wore a black leather blazer with flared trousers and a yellow netted top underneath, Tom opted for a more casual look, sporting a white vest top under a denim jacket with printed matching jeans.

But viewers thought the 28-year-old had decided to head onto live TV in his pyjamas if the messages on social media are anything to go by. @Phoenix6413 tweeted: "Just looked up at the telly and saw @TomDaley1994 on The One Show and I thought he was wearing his pyjamas."

@Ronan367 said: "I first thought Tom was in his pyjamas." @Mr_XYY asked: "Why is tom in his PJs?" @Ian_Butler commented: "Must be well past Tom Daley’s bedtime - he’s come in his pyjamas! #TheOneShow." @Whizzbit21 quipped: "Tom Daley is taking swimming so seriously, he's even wearing his life-saving PJs on TV."
