BBC The One Show viewers 'broken' after spotting Alex Jones whisper to Rylan Clark

The One Show viewers have reacted after spotting a sweet exchange between host Alex Jones and Rylan Clark, who appeared on the BBC programme to promote his new book, Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future. Rylan, who usually guest presents The One Show, opened up about his "awful" year in which his marriage to husband Dan Neal broke down.

Sitting down with Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, Rylan explained why he decided to start his memoir with his marriage split. "Just to get it all out of the way and get it done," the It Takes Two presenter said, gesturing to Alex, he added: "Obviously, last year was awful and we were speaking a lot at the time and The One Show, actually, was one of the first things I got back into with you after I got quite ill last year."

Rylan also opened up about how difficult putting pen to paper was during that time in his life. "It was really difficult writing what I had to write and revisiting a time that I never thought would cross my mind or be part of my life but it did," he explained.

He continued: "It was harder writing about it than actually living in it which is quite strange. Because I started writing the book before my marriage ended and then all of a sudden I am writing the book and the book becomes a different book because it's a massive part of my life."

Later, Alex asked: "At the end of the book you say the only thing you want is to go forward and be happy in the next decade. Are we edging towards it?"

"I'm definitely on my way," Rylan responded. "I'm on my way to sorting this out [points to his head], sorting this out [points to his heart]. Listen, things take time.

"I got very bad last year, and I mean, even to the point in the book there's a warning at the beginning about things I talk about. My personal life is my personal life but unfortunately last year it became public so let's just be honest about it. I clearly can't deal with secrets."

Before moving on to the next segment viewers spotted a sweet exchange between Rylan and his friend Alex. He winked at her and mouthed 'I love you', before she mouthed back 'I love you too'.

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the sweet moment. @19MissG said: "@Rylan and Alex Jones mouthing "I love you" on #TheOneShow just broke me."

@Kristian7Ross added: "Not one for celebrities but a lovely moment there between Rylan and Alex Jones on #TheOneShow. He really does seem like one of the most genuine people on the telebox." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
