The One Show's Alex Jones and her co-stars won't be seen on-screen for a while after she confirmed a lengthy break for the BBC One show. The weeknight chat show was back on Wednesday night (July 27) with the Welsh presenter and Jermaine Jenas at the helm.
They were joined by Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya who revealed how he had to ‘get over his PTSD’ in preparation for his role in Jordan Peele’s new horror film, Nope.
But at the end of the episode, Alex revealed that The One Show won't be on air for a little while. After sharing a couple of messages from viewers reacting to the various topics discussed on the show, the host said: "Well, that is your lot this week and for a few weeks."

She went on to explain: "We are taking a summer break. We'll be back on the 22nd August. Until then, stay safe and have a lovely summer." Alex and Jermaine then said goodbye to viewers with a little wave before the credits rolled.
The One Show's official Twitter account also confirmed the lengthy break, sharing: "That's all we've got time for tonight! Thank you all for watching! The #TheOneShow will be back on August 22nd after a sensational summer of sport!" They added: "We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable summer!"
But it surprised some viewers with @djrustynail tweeting: "Wait that was the last episode of #theoneshow? (For a while) They kept that a bit causal, no one hour special or highlights package of the last 6 months?"
It comes after Alex admitted to her loyal Instagram fans that life she had been experiencing a 'tricky and challenging patch in her life'. She told her followers: "Things have been a bit tricky for us recently and in all honesty, I haven’t had time to be on here between working and the children but I randomly logged on and saw all your lovely messages gently asking if we were all ok.
"I was touched by your kindness and so I just wanted to check in and say thank you, and that even though life has been a bit challenging, we are ok and still managing to enjoy the beginning of the holidays and there's still plenty to smile about! (I'll pop some stuff on my stories) #whenlifegivesyoulemons #thekindnessofstrangers."
As ever, Alex was flooded with a bunch of heartfelt replies from fans who wanted to share their support. Some of Alex's celebrity mates also chimed in with Good Morning Britain's Charlotte Hawkins writing: "Hope all OK, sending love," while Izzy Judd added: "Sending love," followed by love heart emojis.
