The One Show viewers claim to know 'why' Simon Le Bon may not do many TV appearances as his stint on the green sofa turned awkward. The Duran Duran star was on the BBC One programme to chat about the band's upcoming tour on Thursday evening (February 2).
And while he did discuss the string of shows, hosts Alex Jones and Ronon Keating soon changed the conversation into one about football. "Birmingham holds a very special place in your heart, you guys got to perform at the Commonwealth Games, the opening ceremony which was amazing," Ronan said.
"Also, you’ve given an Aston Villa player your seal of approval, is that right?" the former Boyzone then asked which left Simon looking slightly confused. "Have I? Which one?" he replied.

A picture then appeared showing Jhon Duran and Simon then added: "Oh right, ok yeah. That's more John Taylor", referring to his bandmate, before adding: "The Villa fan in the band is Roger Taylor. He's had a rollercoaster ride, as many villa fans."
And despite Simon referring to the lyrics from Ronan’s hit song Life is a Rollercoaster, the joke wasn’t picked up by the host with an awkward pause as Ronan replied: “Hmmm".
But those tuning into the programme were flocking to social media as they picked up on the slightly uncomfortable moment.
@dumptyhumpty18 tweeted: "And thats why Simon doesn't go on chat shows #TheOneShow." @gallagher1aaa commented: "Bit awkward on #TheOneShow." @DayDreembleevr wrote: "#TheOneShow haha #awkward when Simon Le Bon has to talk about someone else lol." @allygliptin added: "#TheOneShow tonight is an absolute car crash."
Others, however, were gushing over Simon's ageless appearance. @MarkBinmore said of the 64-year-old: "40 years since Rio! Blimey. And Simon Le Bon is still looking good in a comfy cardy. #TheOneShow."
@GarethH04231834 shared: "How cool was Simon on the One Show last night? Swear he hasn't aged in the last 10 years!" @paulafoosp added: "How good does Simon Le Bon look? 64 years old! Looks years younger. #theoneshow."
