BBC The Apprentice viewers react as contestant fired - and people aren't happy

Tonight's episode of The Apprentice saw the contestants create a video game entertaining enough to be worth investing in.

The concept for the global warming-themed game was going well until one team realised that they had made a glaringly obvious error with their spelling.

Fast forward to the boardroom and Sophie, Brittany and Francesca were the three at risk of going home, having been in the losing team.

Lord Sugar asked who should be fired and Francesca said that it should have been Brittany. However the tables quickly turned and it was Francesca that was most at risk of going home.

Lord Sugar stated that the advisors said "how can you deal with somebody who can't even spell a name. The things that I've seen, I can see no more. I once saw a bright future for you in this process. Unfortunately I can't see it no more."

Karren Brady added that when you can't spell "arctic right you know you've got a problem" and sadly Francesca was "leading everything" in her role as team leader.

After discussing who should go with Lord Sugar's other advisor, Tim, they agreed that Francesca should be the one to leave this week.

Tweeting about the firing, one said: "Is this one of the most controversial firings ever? Genuinely thought she was a strong contender to win."

Another added: "One of the best candidate for me, and she's been fired for a spelling mistake when the other 2 didn't correct it either. Bad choice."

A third said: "I actually thought Francesca was going to win."

Did you agree with who Lord Sugar fired?
